Friday:

  • Spring Hill Garden Club Fall Plant Sale 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Nature Coast Botanical Gardens offers well cared for, beautiful plants that grow well in this area at very reasonable prices and all of the proceeds go towards this great local organization!fall plant sale
  • Open House at the Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired 10:00 am – 1:30 pm at their Brooksville location (6492 California Street, Brooksville, FL 34604). Please RSVP by calling 352-754-1132 or by emailing events@lvib.org.
  • Yoga for Everybody 10:15 a.m. at the Spring Hill Branch Library will feature the classic hatha yoga with a series of poses (asanas) appropriate for all levels.
  • Courthouse Centennial Celebration 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Hernando County Courthouse where the second floor of the historic Courthouse and the third floor courtroom will be open to the public for viewing of art and historic displays as well as a reception for past and present elected officials held in the historic courtroom. Entertainment will also be provided by local artists.
  • The Haunted Angelus House in Hudson opens this weekend from 6:30 p.m. until midnight featuring 25 acres of terror complete with a large haunted house with parts in insane 3D, a pirate haunt with realistic hangings, a haunted hayride with confederate zobies, and a one mile haunted trail.
  • “The Witch is in” Adult Wine N’ Whimsy Canvas Class 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm at Artful Possibilities where $35 includes all supplies to paint a 16×20 canvas with step by step instruction and a fun night out.

Saturday:air

  • Masquerade Mini Marathon at Good Neighbor Trail in Brooksville will feature a 10K, 5K, or 1 mile Fun Run. All runners are encouraged but not required to run in costume.
  • Bark Island where you can bring your bestest furry pals over to Pine Island to splash, play, and enjoy the beach from 7:30 until 9:30 a.m
  • Hernando Aero Modelers Air Show beginning at 8:00 a.m. featuring a high-speed delta demonstration, a pattern demo, a 3D helicopter demonstration, combat flying, a pylon racing demo, aircraft displays, scale aircraft and various skilled flying events.
  • Fall Maze at Harvest Moon Farm 9:00 am – 5:00 pm is a 5-acre corn maze features more than 3 miles of twists, turns and decision points and the Farm features a variety of other activities including mini mazes, pumpkin bowling, pony hopping, riding a cow train, a petting farm, arts and crafts, and more. There is also a pumpkin patch onsite.
  • Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s (3 miles) at Anderson Snow Park beginning at at 10:00 a.m. is open to all ages.
  • Harvest Pumpkin Festival Arts & Craft Show 10:00 am – 6:00 pm at Strong Tower Vineyard is FREE and fun for all ages featuring unique local arts and crafts, pumpkins, face painting, food & drinks vendors, sweet treats, a Pumpkin Patch, “The Toymakers”, and much more. Wine will also be available for purchase by the glass of bottle.walk to end alz
  • 4-H Benefit Trap Tournament at The Hernando Sportsmans Club consisting of 4 rounds of 25 shots each, for a total of 100 shots. Trophies will be awarded from three categories: youth, adult and senior. The winner is determined by most targets hit.

  • Courthouse Centennial Celebration 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Hernando County Courthouse where the second floor of the historic Courthouse and the third floor courtroom will be open to the public for viewing of art and historic displays. Entertainment will also be provided by local artists and there will be a Farmer’s Market, various entertainers, a “cracker” cattle demonstration and birthday cake in front of the Courthouse.SCARE CROWS
  • Scarecrows in the Gardens 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Nature Coast Botanical Gardens is a FREE family event that will showcase scarecrows made by individuals, clubs, organizations and businesses which will be placed throughout the gardens. George Marshall, a local country singer, will be providing entertainment and there will be a variety of games for children including pumpkin painting (cost for pumpkin is $1.00; paints and brushes will be provided), as well as a scavenger hunt, and candy corn guessing game complete with prizes. Face painting will be available at no charge and Tony the Balloon Guy will entertain from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A live scarecrow will be available for pictures with children too so be sure and bring your camera! A raffle will be held ($1.00 per ticket or six for $5.00) of items donated by local businesses and individuals. Refreshments will also be served.
  • The Fall Maze at Sweetfield’s Farm 10:00 am – 5:00 pm featuring a life-sized living labyrinth of corn, hay rides, a hay maze and spider web maze (for the littler ones), lawn games, a tree house, story telling, crafts, and visits with the farm animals including the infamous Rosie Moo Moo.
  • Open Paint at Artful Possibilities 10:00 am – 5:00 pm where you choose a piece of ceramic or plaster, paint it, and take it home. They’ve got lots of holiday themed pieces as well as every day creations to choose from.

Sunday:rescues in park

  • The Longleaf Triathlon in New Port Richey is one of the Tampa Bay Area’s premier multi-sports events featuring swimming, biking, and running.
  • Blood Drive 8:00 am – 1:00 pm at Believers Christian Fellowship (7410 Commercial Way, Weeki Wachee FL, 34613).
  • Fall Maze at Harvest Moon Farm 9:00 am – 5:00 pm is a 5-acre corn maze features more than 3 miles of twists, turns and decision points and the Farm features a variety of other activities including mini mazes, pumpkin bowling, pony hopping, riding a cow train, a petting farm, arts and crafts, and more.   • Rescues in the Park 10:00 am – 3:00 pm at Crews Lake Park is a free event that will feature food, drinks, games, raffles, Westmunster Dog Show, Dog Parade led by the PDQ Pack Walk, clowns, face painting, costume characters, coloring contest, live music and a DJ, lure course, dog training demos, horse back rides, a petting zoo, bake sale, and a number of vendors.

  • Mostly Broadway Presented by The Hernando Jazz Society in the Wellington Clubhouse at 2:00 p.m. with the live sounds of great Broadway tunes such as: “Ain’t Misbehavin” from the Broadway show of the same name; “Secret Love” from Guys and Dolls; “Where or When” from Babes in Arms and many other favorite show tunes from years gone by.
