One of the cool parts about living in Florida? When the holidays take to the water! Boats decked out with lights and decorations will be setting sail for two special Christmas Boat Parades in Hernando County this year!
- Hernando Beach Yacht Club’s annual Christmas Boat Parade is being held December 4th. It is FREE to watch and open to the public. The parade starts at 6:00 at the Yacht Club (4163 Shoal Line Boulevard) then proceeds through the local canals down to the public boat ramp. Hot dogs, chips, and beverages will be available for purchase at the Yacht Club, which also has a full liquor bar. Prizes will be awarded. - The 30th annual Weeki Wachee River Christmas Boat Parade is being held December 5th. Boats will leave the Weeki Wachee Marina at 6:30 p.m. and proceed to the judging area at Rogers Park (7244 Shoal Line Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34607) then head to Bayport Pier. Spectators can enjoy the parade at either location with no cost for admission. Boats will be judged for creativity, originality, and theme. All boaters are invited to enter with either a gift card, cash donation, or a new unwrapped toy to be donated. To enter a boat or for additional information call (352) 596-2852.
