The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the young man, identified as 17 year old Christian Rakewon Fitzgerald, that shot a teen girl outside the Spring Haven Apartments in Spring Hill around 9:30 last night. The girl was walking outside of the apartment complex when Fitzgerald allegedly shot her in the face. Fitzgerald was last seen running east, across Mariner Boulevard, toward the Wellington community wearing black basketball shorts and white or grey sneakers with no shirt. He was carrying a small sling bag. The girl was transported by medical helicopter to an area trauma center and is expected to recover. She is currently in stable condition.
Fitzgerald is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Detectives have obtained a warrant for the arrest of Christian Fitzgerald. He may still be armed and should be considered dangerous. If you see him, do not take action and notify law enforcement immediately.
