Winter has arrived…and despite temperatures being well above freezing you can still go ice skating! Tampa’s “Downtown on Ice” is open for the season through January 3rd and features a 50 ft. x 100 ft. outdoor (yes outdoor) real ice rink at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, located at 600 North Ashley Drive in downtown Tampa. Situated on the Riverwalk/Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa, and surrounded by museums, the downtown skyline, & the Picturesque minarets of Plant Hall and the University of Tampa, you can enjoy a beautiful view and 90 minutes of skating for just $12 per person which includes skates. No reservations are needed and your 90 minutes begin when you enter the rink. You’ll also want to bring a little extra cash to enjoy the lounge area and some hot chocolate and snacks from the concession stand. Group rates and private parties are available. The rink is closed on select dates so please verify that they are open for skating before making the drive. You can check available skate times at http://www.TampasDownTownonIce.com.
