Longtime Olympic Choreographer Trains Spring Hill Girls

Some young gymnasts in Spring Hill had a unique opportunity to learn from an Olympic choreographer.

Geza Pozar spent the week at Top Contenders Gymnastics Academy working with students from ages 8-12.images

He has choreographed for many Olympians, including the entire gold medal winning 1996 U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team.

“I’m going back to the grass-routes, you know, I’m going back to the little ones,” Pozar said.

“Going back to the little ones who really express gratitude and they enjoy it sincerely, honestly they enjoy it. You can see on their face the excitement. ‘Oh I do that,’ you know,” he added.

And the students say it’s an experience they won’t soon forget.

“I thought it was amazing, I was super excited, happy. It was fun,” said 9-year-old Giuliana Richard.

“I love him, he is funny, but he’s strict enough to let you know that this is what you have to do and this is what you don’t do,” said 11-year-old Suriana Pabon.

Pozar has been choreographing for 46 years.
