Learn All There is to Know About Living in Hernando County September 11th

1Whether you are new to Hernando County or have lived here since before we had stoplights the Hernando County Resident’s Reception can help you get to know the local area a little bit better! A wealth of information about the community including schools, safety, law enforcement, roads, local government, healthcare, and where to eat or have some fun, will be available. Attendees will be able to meet representatives from Hernando County’s Board of Commissioners, Sheriff’s Office, Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, Supervisor of Elections and School Board. Active military, veterans, and Hernando County First Responders will be honored in a tribute ceremony and flag ceremony presented by the Civil Air Patrol. Fire Chief Hechler, Sheriff Nienhuis, and Congressman Rich Nugent are scheduled to speak during a tribute ceremony and entertainment will be provided by assorted high school students. Local restaurants will offer free samples of their “signature items” and other local businesses will be onsite to introduce themselves. The 2015 Hernando County Resident’s Reception is being held September 11th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park at 6131 Commercial Way. Admission is free.
