This one sounds like a boatload of fun! Hernando County’s Annual Cardboard Boat Race is being held Saturday, October 21st at the Hernando Beach Yacht Club (4163 Shoal Line Blvd Hernando Beach, FL 34607) featuring great food, live entertainment all day, vendors, and the race of course. This event is free and open to the public. Innovative captains and crews will spend the next few weeks building their own boats out of cardboard and race to the finish line…or just try not to sink. Races are open to everyone. Various awards will be presented for best looking, Most Unique and Fastest in time, Demolition Derby (for those who wish to participate), Championship race, and Titanic Award for the most dramatic sinking. Must make your best efforts not to sink. Anyone can enter a cardboard boat. The fee is $30.00
