Fire Rescue responds to 4 separate brush fires throughout Hernando County yesterday.

Residents in eastern Hernando County can expect to experience smoke conditions for the next several days as a result of a brush fire in the Richloam18451505_1705759416383267_7014505429235823610_o forest near CR471. Florida Forest Service has the 54 acre fire 80% contained as of 10pm Wednesday. Fire Rescue responded to 4 separate brush fires throughout Hernando County yesterday.

The first fire occurred on Crescent Rd in Spring Hill but is now 100% contained and poses no further threats.

The 2nd fire occurred off Moore Rd in Brooksville. The Fire is contained within fire lines at 5 acres but Smoke and flames will remain visible for several days with this fire. This fire poses no threat to structures and the Cause of the fire was downed power lines. As a result of this fire a 3rd fire broke out on Harrison Rd. Crews were able to contain the fire to 0.5 acres with 100% containment.

The 4th fire which started from an unattended recreational fire was off of Otter Dr in Ridge Manor. This fire was less than 0.5 acres and is 100% contained at this time.

As a reminder, ALL of Hernando County remains under a BURN BAN due to the EXTREME fire conditions that exist across our area.

The US National Weather Service Tampa Bay Florida has issued a Red Flag Warning for Hernando County from 11a-8p today.
