Fire Crews Busy with Afternoon House Fire

Yesterday, Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to reports of a fire at 14414 Wake Robin Dr. Initial 30726617_1853957134896827_263533442321350656_nreports were of a fire in the kitchen of the home.

The first HCFR unit arrived on scene within 2 minutes. Fire crews quickly confirmed that all occupants were out of the home. Fire crews then quickly located the fire in the kitchen of the home and were able to extinguish, preventing any further damage to the structure. The kitchen of the home sustained moderate fire damage, while the remaining areas of the home sustained smoke and heat damage. Due to the condition of the home, the family of four was displaced and is staying with family in the area. No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.

Fire crew’s investigation into the cause of the fire was determined to be that of cooking oil which ignited30705843_1853957124896828_3009212460201672704_n
