The National Weather Service continues to monitor an area of Arctic high pressure that is setting in with a very chilly day expected. Freezing temperatures and low wind chills are being observed across much of the area this morning. Temperatures will only warm this afternoon into the upper 40s to middle 50s. Another cold night is expected tonight into Friday morning although it may be a few degrees warmer than this morning.
A Hard Freeze Watch will be in effect from midnight tonight through 9 a.m. Friday morning however this will likely be upgraded to a Hard Freeze Warning later today. Continue to monitor the situation through your local media outlet or the NWS.
Winds will be lighter tonight so no wind chill advisory is expected but actual air temperatures will remain cold. A warming trend begins on Friday but especially into the weekend.
