UPDATE 3: Details surrounding what the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office originally thought was an attempted abduction of a 9 year old girl have been released. According to the Sheriff’s Office 18 year old Drew Bretnall and his 16 year old friend were recreating a Japanese anime scene. Bretall recorded the incident on a cell phone and posted the video to Snapchat as a joke. Nonetheless, the terrified child thought she was about to be abducted in her own neighborhood and the Sheriff’s Office is talking with the State Attorney’s office about charging the two with misdemeanor assault. ORIGINAL RELEASE: A man attempted to kidnap a nine year old girl in the area of Little Creek Drive and Canopy Drive in New Port Richey yesterday while she was walking home around 3:10 p.m. The white male chased her from the roadway and between houses. While seeking help, the victim lost the suspect. When she returned home, he approached her again driving a blue car and made several verbal attempts to get her into the car.
